SOME PLACES BRING YOU BACK TO YOURSELF

Lopavot was born from a journey, but also from the need to rediscover a part of myself that routine had left behind.

I am María, an anesthesiologist and the founder of Lopavot.

After a few particularly intense years, work had ended up consuming almost all my time. Without realizing it, I had stopped doing many of the things that had always defined me: painting, reading, designing, and inventing stories.

I needed to stop. To breathe. To look beyond the routine again.

IT ALL STARTED WITH A MAP

One day I opened a map and looked for a European city I hadn't visited yet. I chose Berlin and traveled alone.

It was my first time there, but from the beginning, I had that strange feeling of discovering a place I would want to return to.

And I did return.

I went back once and then again. I traveled with friends, spent seasons there, and slowly got to know a different city in each neighborhood.

I found elegance and serenity next to Museumsinsel; creativity, freedom, and color in Kreuzberg; architecture and unity in Oberbaum; and an unexpected light amidst the gray of its streets.

Berlin didn't turn me into another person.

It brought me back to the person I had left behind.

There, I started observing, imagining, and connecting with the creative part that had been present since my childhood. And I understood that I wanted to create something of my own that would combine design with another of my great passions: storytelling.

FROM AN EMOTION TO A JEWEL

This is how Lopavot's first collection was born.

Each piece is named after a place in Berlin and represents a different way of experiencing the city: its calm, its contrasts, its architecture, its nights, and the freedom that can be felt in certain corners.

We are not looking to literally reproduce a street or a building. We want to preserve the feeling of being there.

Because a city stays with us not only for what we saw, but for who we were while experiencing it.

Berlin Collection 01 is the first chapter of Lopavot: 925 sterling silver jewelry created to be worn, treasured, and connected to one's own story.

A NAME THAT ALSO TELLS A STORY

Lopavot brings together different parts of my life.

"Pavot" means poppy in French. The poppy is the flower I remember from spring walks through the fields of La Mancha with my mother and grandparents. Its color, delicacy, and the way it appears in the landscape are part of my earliest creative memories.

The word also has an unexpected connection to my profession as an anesthesiologist, through the opium poppy.

"Lo" comes from Lola, a name linked to the women in my family —my mother, my grandmother— and which is also part of my own name.

Childhood, family, profession, and creativity thus meet in a single word.

NOW THE STORY CAN BE YOURS TOO

Lopavot was born in Berlin, but its story is not just about a city.

It's about those places that appear at a certain moment and change something within us. About the journeys that allow us to stop, rediscover a forgotten part of ourselves, and return a little more ourselves.
